Feathered Friday

At the beginning of January my dad texted my sister and I and said " Pick a day, I am taking my daughters to dinner." Well trying to schedule the timing of 2 adult women who work long hours full-time sure is hard, because it took us a month to get together.

Sade (my sister) picked The Capital Grille, as our meetup and we were able to enjoy a great Restaurant Week menu. On Instagram, February 3, I labeled it "Feather Friday" and decided to keep the theme going for the night.

I wanted to create a casual, yet standout outfit. I remembered the Elizabeth and James Ostrich Feather blazer that I owned and purchased at a 260 Sample Sale event, but never wore and made the decision to make this the key piece to center around. At first I was going to wear it as a mini dress ( which may happen later in the season), however after consulting with my sister who I tend to bounce outfit ideas off of I made the switch. See some pictures from my night and outfit below.  Deals I spied and scored will be highlighted.

It is not cold. I swear. I love that the scaffolding is captured in my pictures, because this is NYC and construction is everywhere.

The only accessories I added were these Eddie Borgo earrings

Restaurant week includes a choice of appetizer, entree, and dessert. If you have not visited Capital Grille, you should add it to your list before or after a Broadway show.

Purchased this coach bag the year the brand relaunched its Iconic '70s bags in 2011.  I remember Coach being the first designer bag I owned as a teen and my mom wore them  religiously, so the brand holds a special place in my heart

I personally no longer wear designer jeans. This is just a personal preference of mine.I was able to put a spin on these Zara "Mom Fit" jeans by rolling up the bottom to create a boyfriend jeans esthetic.

As we waited for my dad at the conclusion of our night I snapped a few candids of my sister. I helped style her for the night.
