The Personal Scent Laboratory
With the start of February, I know many of us begin thinking about that special day around the corner; Valentines Day. This year the future husband and I are skipping since our wedding is 10 days after. But for those hopeless romantics; candies, flowers, and kisses await.
I love a good scent as a gift and wanted to share what I am currently wearing to give you some ideas. Layering various scents is a new thing for me in the past 6 months. I love it because no 2 days need to ever be the same. It gives me a element of "play" I like when dressing up and time to create my perfect scent.
As always you will find a great deal I found below. There is even a surprise for my readers below!
1. Jo Malone London
Who wouldn't want to open there iconic cream boxes and black ribbons to enjoy a luxe scent. There choice of scents are wide and vast. My favorites include Peony and Blush Suede, Wood and Sea Salt, and Mimosa and Cardamom to name a few . The obsession is real! I recently also picked up 2 limited edition scents from Holiday 2016; my go to is Carrot Blossom and Fennel. Don't let the name fool you, it smells heavenly.
I also have discovered Fragrance Combining.™Jo Malone™ scents can be worn solo or layered for truly individual effects. Freshen a rich floral with a citrus zing. Add spice for a warm allure. Create something unexpected. A personal signature.
2. Tom Ford Beauty
I have worn Tom Ford fragrances, ever since his launch of Black Orchid. It gives me a element of glamour that is undescribable.
I was then introduced to the Private Blend line about 2 years ago , when my fiance ( boyfriend at the time) asked for Costa Azzurra for Valentine's Day, of course. I tend to oblige to gift requests and happily went to the counter in the Macy's men's department. OMG the price points will make you pull your hair out, but also will the smells. Private Blend is designed with the true fragrance connoisseur in mind. I learned during my visit each fragrance begins with the precious extract from a single note: amber, tobacco, black violet, leather, gardenia, sandalwood…
So he got his gift, but I was left wanting more. Fast forward 2 years later and I was able to pick up this Private Blend mini set below. It gives you the opportunity to test various scents, and as I mentioned above with Jo Malone create a special individual scent, as this was the purpose.
The Private Blend mini set retails at $355, and the singles range from $225-$595 depending on the size. I was able to find the mini set below for $50. It was a Christmas shopping miracle, so I picked up a few extras to save. Oud Wood and Neroli Portofino are my personal 2 favorites in the assortment.
