Taffeta or Organza Fun

I’m not even gonna lie at first I wasn’t sure if this post should be labeled Taffeta Fun or Organza Fun; so I decided to incorporate both! They are both on my list for summer and there are some great new styles available in both fabrics.

A brief design lesson:

Taffeta is made from tightly woven silk or silk-blends, is crisp and can be identified by the characteristic rustling sound it makes when moved. Organza is also made from silk, but is much stiffer than chiffon. It wrinkles easily and creates more volume in a dress. It is delicate and gauzy, making them a particularly good choice for wedding attire and evening gowns.

I took this Prada Organza dress out of a evening setting and wore it for a day of shopping. I paired it with the most comfiest sneakers I own; the Prada Cloudbust. This dress is pretty simple but I love the dramatic bow in the back. The dress retailed at over $1300 but in Fashion Sherlock form I found it for under $400.

Sharing some other Prada Organza pieces for less below:

Zara just launched some lust worthy pieces in both fabrics that are in great green, black and fuchsia colors. I just pulled the trigger on a floral blouse I will be wearing with my flare denim.
